Course name and description: DGE1031B, DREM 101: Emergencies, Disasters, and Catastrophes

An overview of emergencies, disasters, and catastrophes from a social, political, historical, policy, environmental, international and cross-cultural perspective. Focuses on differences in these events in terms of scale as well as cause from the disaster phase approach.

NDSU Credit: This course is worth 3 transcribed by NDSU upon successful completion of the course.

  • General education applicability: This course is in the Social and Behavioral Sciences in general education in the North Dakota University System (Category B).
  • NDSU majors applicability: This course also applies to the following majors: Natural Resources Management, Ag Communications . This list may not be all-inclusive, and you are encouraged to visit with NDSU about course applicability to your intended major or minor.

Registration Process & Requirements: Students will complete the registration form linked below. As part of this registration form, you will be prompted to download and have a school official complete a dual credit permission form, which you will upload upon completion using instructions provided by NDCDE. Students will also be required to submit transcripts to NDSU. Ask your high school counselor or a school official to send your official transcript. Your transcript should be signed by a school official and include all coursework, grades, and graduation date, if applicable.

  • Where to send: High school transcripts may be mailed, sent via secure file service such as Parchment or Scoir, or emailed directly to ndsu.apply@ndsu.edu by a school counselor or official.
  • Transcripts received from students will not be accepted.

Once you complete these steps, an NDSU staff member will work with you to receive access to NDSU’s email, Blackboard, purchase course materials, and provide guidance on how to pay for the course.
